Don’t you think that’s optimistic? If Intel doesn’t have something ready now for fabless companies to plan products launching in two to three years, Intel Foundry’s solutions are unlikely to stay relevant.
While I would like to believe this was all planned in advance I cannot. Either way I credit Li-Bu with being a top rated CEO that can navigate turbulent waters with a win-win outcome. Similar to what I do on the San Francisco Bay. Sometimes I win, sometimes I lose, but either way I am sailing, win-win.

I can’t say whether there are more or less, but I feel that in Taiwan there is a much fiercer debate constantly questioning the ruling party’s policies and decisions. In a certain way, I think that is far better than the current US Congress and White House.

Did LBT respond in writing yet to Tom Cotton's letter? Anyone seen a copy of this reply, anyone asked INTEL about this answer to Cotton?

The letter was to Frank Yeary. I think Lip-Bu was correct in responding to Trump directly. Cut out the middleman and go straight to the top. I do not believe Tom Cotton was in the meetings with Lip-Bu, Trump and senior White House officials.

So Yeary has no independent responsibility to answer a letter to him from the Chairman of the US Senate Intelligence Committee regarding the CEO he appointed, who's integrity is questioned in relation to US National Security?
Wow? Either Yeary has no balls to answer that letter, or Cotton has no balls to repeat his demand for an answer. This is about US National Security!! Not about an affair, or tax evasion, or lying to an FBI agent. Cotton writes: transparency and US National Security!!
Or perhaps both Yeary and Cotton do not have any balls to Walk their Talk.
Anybody wonder why INTEL is in such a deep hole with such a Board Chairman, who is scarred to death by a nonsense letter of Cotton and has not answered the letter to protect the integrity of his own CEO?
Poor INTEL employees that are let go by the thousands these weeks........

But I agree, Frank should have said something. I do not know Frank but looking at what happened to Intel during his 16.5 years tenure I am not a fan. Here are the CEOs he helped hire. A one out of six record is not good at all.

Yes, and the difference will be that Taiwan had enough violent rural youth to come to Taipei, and who were very good at fighting.
Much of the economic policy was an aftereffect of monetary one, and that was an aftereffect of populace being able to credibly threaten the physical security of political establishment.
The massive anti-statism of the nineties led to the state coughing up most of its cherished possessions, which would've likely remained money losing, taxpayer subsidised endeavours forever.
So, we have microchips now because of unemployed Hoklo youth from South Taiwan, and steel truncheons. The Mainland China has neither of that.
