The entry point for ST's ARM Cortex-M4 offering is the STM32F3, clocked at 72 MHz and featuring a floating point unit and DSP extensions. Newest family members now support up to 512 KB flash, additional I2C and SPI ports, and a Flexible Memory Controller. Additional motor-control capability has also been added, with up to three 144 MHz 16-bit timers.

These features round out peripherals including 12-bit ADCs, 16-bit sigma-delta ADCs, fast comparators, high resolution timers, and a programmable gain amplifier. Two different hardware boards support evaluation of the new parts. The STM32F302RE with 512 KB flash in an LQFP64 package is available immediately, priced at $3.38 in 10K quantities.
