The Next technologists, Lawyers

The law and not just US law, but the laws of all countries already are the battle ground for technology firms. From start to finish, whether we like it or not, lawyers with international skills will have to become a key part of any project. IP wars will become as important and maybe even more important than even military wars. War and technology have never been more combined than they are now with social media bringing the front lines and behind the lines home in real time.
Creating new technology has more ramifications and impact now than it ever has due to the development of a true world wide economy and instant, cheap world wide communications. Perhaps the greatest single development in this is the massive container ships. All this is changing the social, economic and political structure of the world at an unprecedented rate in ways we have never imagined and can't predict.

Patent attorneys have a pretty sweet job. They are creative but with better career potential than other r and d types. They are recession proof. Interesting work too.

I really hope we evolve to a world where the patent lawyer's job becomes less important and it is creativity again that rules the world. :)

How dare you say lawyers aren't creative, haven't you ever heard of twisted logic? Most engineers don't have a clue about twisted logic and lawyers are experts at it. I heard one recently proved white is black and black is white.
