Need help with TSUPREME4 and MEDICI.

Hi
I have to study TSUPREME4, Taurus Work Bench and MEDICI as part of my post graduate studies. I would be very grateful if anyone could share resources and expertise in these.
Regards
Sharath

I presume that you have a Synopsys account, if so then try these steps:

Introduction:

Medici is a 2D device simulator for modeling electrical, optical and thermal characteristics of semiconductor devices such as MOS and bipolar transistors and diodes. For example, Medici can simulate I-V characteristics under various operating conditions (ie. Under illumination, bias) and model potential and carrier concentrations within a device. Davinci and Taurus-Device are capable of 3D device simulations.
Taurus T-Supreme4 is a 1D and 2D process simulator for developing semiconductor fabrication techniques. For example, T-Supreme-4 can simulate ion implantation, diffusion, oxidation, etching and deposition processing.
TCAD Sentaurus consists of Sentaurus Workbench, Process, Topography, Structure Editor and Device for process simulation, device creation and device simulation. Sentaurus Device is a 1D/2D/3D device simulator for electrical, optical and thermal characterization of semiconductor devices.

Getting Started:
Medici is installed on eceunix and skynet.
You will need to insert the line
source /home/synopsys/setup_tcad.csh
at the end of you .cshrc file and login again.
Manuals can be accessed using SSH in

/home/synopsys/tcad/A_2007.12/taurus-medici_2007.12.0/manual_pdf</pre>
/md_A-2007.12_ug.pdf </pre>
/home/synopsys/tcad/A_2007.12/Taurus-tsuprem4_2007.12.0/manual_pdf</pre>
/S4_A-2007.12_ug.pdf</pre>
/home/synopsys/tcad/A_2007.12-SP1/tcad/A-2007.12-SP1/manuals</pre>For Medici we will only need md_A-2007.12_ug.pdf.
Windows machines will need a program for viewing plots from Unix machines such
as Xming (Xming X Server for Windows - Official Website).
Create a working directory such as “medici” (eg. mkdir medici) and copy example
Medici input files (.inp) to this directory using SSH Secure File Transfer.

Running Medici:
Run Xming
Use SSH Secure Shell to login to eceunix.uwaterloo.ca using your student ID and
password
Change to Medici directory (ie. cd medici)
Run Medici by typing in “medici example.inp”

Hey,
Thanks for your help. Had my lab work evaluation today... and my prof was quite satisfied with my progress. Learned much about simulating devices with tsupreme4, medici and taurus work bench. Are these soft wares used extensively by the industry? If not what are the other similar soft wares used by the industry? Thanks a lot agn!

Yes, the Synopsys software is widely used in the EDA industry for TCAD, Cadence and Silvaco also have popular TCAD tools as well.
