Apple's iPhone 5se and iPad Air 3 TSMC or Samsung A9?

According to rumors at World Mobile Congress Apple is planning to release iPhone 5se and iPad Air 3 devices on March 18. The question I have: Will Apple split the SoCs between TSMC and Samsung again? Which was a massive failure in my opinion. Or will they use just one vendor so we all don't download an app to see which one we have then complain about it?

The iPad Air 3 upgrade I understand. I'm going to buy one for my wife. But who would want an iPhone 5se? An iPhone 6s brain with an iPhone 5s body?!?!?!?!

Me. I hate phablets. The smaller the better.

I'm pretty sure that lots of people don't like the larger screens as they don't see video or streaming as primary use. The smaller size is quite sufficient for many and Apple may be recognizing this and wanting to fill that gap. Also allows them to extend market without getting into low end/value devices.
Personally, I've used phones with up to 6" screens and they simply are too large for my taste. I'm not a small guy, but the single hand operation is more cumbersome over 5-5.25" screen size/body frame. I'm hoping that the 7 or another version is in the middle of the 4.7"/5.5" current range - or that the bezel is minimized to reduce footprint (think LG G4). I don't want a larger phone in my pocket, nor do I use this as a tablet.
