This year Israel is becoming hot ground for acquisitions.
Amazon is reported to acquire Annapurna Labs, did anyone hear about Annapurna earlier?
Annapurna Labs is a company owned by semiconductor tycoon of Israel, Avigdor Willenz.
It develops microprocessors that allow fast data traffic for low-power computing and storage servers.
The company is in business for communication and processing platform for data centers.

Why Amazon is buying it - to strengthen it's cloud services. With Annapurna, it will establish
a semiconductor R&D center in Israel.

With IoT and data volume rising, are we going to see the Cloud boom this year?
Semiconductor industry is going to play a pivotal role there.

Amazon to buy Israeli start-up Annapurna Labs | Reuters

An AWS spokeswoman declined to discuss the terms of the deal, but financial newspaper Calcalist reported earlier on Thursday that Amazon would pay up to $370 million.

Are these ARM based chips? Judging by the LinkedIn profiles I would say yes. Lip-Bu Tan (Cadence CEO) is on their board.

Most probably, they should be ARM based chips. ARM has invested into Annapurna.
