    Israeli Automated Warfare Suite Video

This Israeli automated warfare video provides a very interesting and thought provoking view of a whole host of semi and sensor technologies that require some serious thought. The variety of technologies involved in this literally covers a tremendous range in one package, from sensors, servos, software, hardware and networking technologies. To put this altogether if they pull it off will be a technological tour de force. It should also give rise to how the technology of warfare can be used for a multitude of peace time uses. The applications to autonomous driving and robotics are obvious high value applications of these technologies. Sadly, much of the technology we have now was first developed for warfare, but yielded even far greater humanitarian and peacetime uses. It definitely is a marketing tool for the capabilities of a whole host of advanced technologies.

Interesting find. Certainly could advance capabilities in tanks and other AVs. Of course for sensors, this take "operating in a hostile environment" to a whole new level. You wouldn't have to take out the whole tank - you could just blind it - carefully targeted shots or explosives, lasers, ...

I have read up on the speed of the Israeli counter measures and it's so fast that an RPG fired at close range can be picked up and destroyed before it hits the tank or vehicle. From what I understand, this is current, in the field technology. Like the Iron Dome, it probably has a program that carefully sets priorities, keeping the data set to deal with far smaller, which gives it the tremendous speed needed. The Iron Dome only goes after missiles that are going to hit targets of value. The Israelis have had some of the best success at applying technology in warfare and the US the least as you look at our failure rate in Afghanistan, Iraq and Syria. Osama Bin Laden invented the decentralized, stateless, autonomous military structure that we have yet to deal with. He stated basically he would win militarily or financially by driving us bankrupt and he has basically done both. He knew he would die eventually and it would make little difference to his creation. Warfare designed by someone who studied engineering and economics, what degrees he had is open to question. Technology must be mixed with economics and strategy to win in the market or the battle field to win.
