    SOC design detail information

A lot of books/articles explain about SOC and give details about the various components used, I want some information on the mobile device SOC .. what all components are used and how they are interfaced with the software in layman's term. Like suppose the voice signal which I hear on my cellphone it goes through a series of steps before it gets decoded or may be I run some application or type something on my keypad .what exactly happens on the software and hardware side when I perform those tasks

The articles is definitely informative but I am looking for something probably at one level down, I know I won't find any docs on it but if maybe somebody can explain it. Like the audio signals goes to which all blocks of the SOC and how different blocks come into picture and at what stage like the IOs, memory etc

What is your background in terms of education and experience? It could help me direct you to a site with sufficient detail. I usually learn by doing a Google search.

Your questions is very broad. It's similar to asking what does it take for me to cross my fingers. What happens in the human body to accomplish this task? There is brain interaction, through the spinal cord..and so on but it's far more complicated than that correct? Because there is a huge infrastructure and dependencies to even permit the signal to be made for your fingers to cross.

Same with SOC's! They are very complex with a lot of interdependencies.

I like to start with Wikipedias because they usually have a very 'layman' level of detail to start with but also or should I say usually have links and other resources to dig into.
